At Bay Anesthesia Group, we provide mobile dental anesthesia throughout California using a dedicated-provider model. While your dentist focuses entirely on your treatment, a separate dentist anesthesiologist is responsible solely for your anesthesia, comfort, and safety throughout the procedure.

That means we come to your dentist’s office rather than sending you somewhere else, and one trained professional is watching over the patient the whole time. What Is Dental Anesthesia?

Here’s what makes our approach different. In some offices, the same dentist both performs the procedure and manages the sedation at the same time. We don’t work that way.

Bay Anesthesia Group operates a dedicated-provider model that goes beyond what California requires: a separate, dedicated dentist anesthesiologist manages sedation and anesthesia, so the treating dentist can focus entirely on the procedure.

That means one trained professional is watching over the patient’s breathing, comfort, and vital signs for the entire visit, and nothing else. We believe separating the anesthesia from the dental procedure lets each clinician focus completely on their own area of expertise, which helps create a calmer, more controlled experience for patients and families, especially children and patients with complex needs.

Levels of Sedation

We tailor the level of sedation to the patient and the procedure, from minimal sedation for mild nervousness up to general anesthesia for the most involved cases or the youngest children. In between are moderate sedation, which keeps a patient relaxed but responsive, and deep sedation for patients who need to be fully at rest.

Safety and Oversight

Safety is the whole reason our model exists. During deeper sedation and general anesthesia, our dedicated provider continuously monitors the patient’s oxygen levels, heart rate, breathing, and blood pressure from the moment care begins until recovery.

Because a separate, dedicated dentist anesthesiologist manages the anesthesia, that monitoring is one person’s only job for the entire visit. Monitoring continues throughout the procedure and into recovery, until the patient meets clear criteria to be safely discharged. Emergency medications and airway equipment are on hand the whole time. This is part of how our model goes beyond what California requires, not because we have to, but because we believe it’s the safer way to care for patients.

For the youngest children and medically complex patients, that dedicated attention matters most, and it’s exactly where our training and approach make the biggest difference.
